4th of July 2014

We rented a hotel room at the Shilo Inn by the river in Idaho Falls. It was a lot of fun, but took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot because there were so many people there.

Scotlyn's First Gymnastics Meet!! 5/31/14

She competed in 2 events: balance beam and floor routine. She did an awesome job for her first competition. She scored 1st place in each of her events in her group and then first place overall. The boys thought it was pretty cool to stand up on the mounds also.

Parker loses his first tooth!!! 5/23/14

Parker's tooth had been loose for about a week when he and Scotlyn decided to search YouTube videos on how to pull a tooth out with a remote control car. They decided it could be done with their Mater truck. She tied a piece of dental floss to Mater then to the tooth. Parker pushed the accelerator button and Voila', the tooth came out! He was so excited to get a visit from the tooth fairy that he made her a special picture of him sleeping and the tooth fairy looking down on him.

Newport, Oregon: 5/23-24/14

We took an overnight trip to Newport, Oregon the day after school got out. We watched fishermen crab pot, went to a science center, played n the beach, and even found some sea creatures. We found a tide pool with a purple star fish, crabs, sea anemones, mussels, and barnicles. Scotlyn got help Matt fly home.

May 21, 2014...

Scotlyn and her partner, Karsen Neff, gave an Ancient Civilization presentation on the Mayans. They made a tourist travel guide with all the information they found. We made homemade corn bread and Karsen brought tortillas for their food to share.

Mother's Day Tea 5/9/14

Parker's class had a tea for their mothers on Friday, May 9. It was so cute!! We drank mint and berry tea, ate biscuits, egg salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, wedding cookies, and chocolate dipped strawberries that the kindergarteners prepared themselves. He even had a sun hat made for me along with a top hat and bow tie for himself. It was a very nice afternoon!!
