Spring Break: March 19-23, 2018

For Spring Break this year, we took the boys down south to St. George, Utah while Scotlyn took a trip to Napa, CA with her friend who is also our neighbor. While in St. George, we took the kids to many parks, fed the ducks, went for walks, ate lots of ice cream, went to the Children's Museum, went for a train ride, and enjoyed the warm sunshine. The boys love going to Hurricane to spend time with their grandparents.

Parker's 10th Birthday!!

Parker Magnus turned the big double-digit 10 years old on March 7. This wonderful boy of ours is so tender hearted, kind, always willing to help, sweet, innocent, funny, quick witted, handsome, and smart. We feel so blessed that we get to be his parents. He had a great day at school with a visit from Nana, donuts for breakfast, and Fugi for dinner with the family. He was able to also celebrate over the weekend with a friend party at Fat Cat's in Rexburg. He invited his close friends: Carson, Nico, Adrian, and Jayden. They bowled, played laser tag, did a virtual reality game, and miniature golfed. I can't believe this wonderful little boy is growing up so fast right before our eyes. I can't wait to see what God has in store for this young man!

Valentine's Day!

My Valentine's Day studs!! I make sure every year that these boys know how to treat the ladies right on V Day. We make sure that we order a flower for each teacher and a flower for their sweeties. I also send each of the boys a singing telegram. I used to do it for Scotlyn, but the HS wouldn't let them sing to her.

Christmas!!

For Christmas we stayed in Idaho Falls. The kids all got riding gear for their dirt bikes, Scotlyn got a computer, and the boys got a bearded dragon. We went to Blackfoot and had Christmas dinner with Sarah's in-laws and family. Josh came up from Salt Lake and celebrated the holiday with us too. On Wednesday after Christmas, we traveled down to Hurricane, Utah to visit Matt's family and spend a few days down there. It was nice to be able to spend time with Grandma Mikkelson, Russ, Wendy, Royce, Tom, and Jennifer. On our way back to Idaho, we decided to take the scenic route through Zion since the kids had never seen it. We stopped at Checkerboard Mesa and let the kids play on the rocks. It was a good end to the year!!

Christmastime Festivities!!

My dad's work, Bush's RV, held a "Christmas in the Night Sky" evening for the people of Idaho Falls. There was Santa, a baked potato bar, hot chocolate, hay rides, camp fires, and fireworks. It was very cold, but a lot of fun. My mom and I also took the kids to see "The Nutcracker" at the Colonial theater in downtown Idaho Falls. The boys fell asleep in the second half, but other than that, they enjoyed watching the show. Cooper got glasses this year. He is nearsighted, but likes to wear them all the time.
