Boys get tonsils out...

Both boys needed tonsillectomies, so we decided to schedule them on the same day so they could recover together. We went in at 7:30am on Friday, October 4. They got all gowned up and rested in bed for an hour before the nurses wheeled them back into the operating room. Cooper went first. He came out of surgery crying while Parker came out pretty groggy, but asking to eat some food. They weren't allowed to eat prior and by late morning, Parker was starving. The nurses gave Coop some pain meds which calmed him down and he fell asleep. Parker ate 3 cups of chocolate ice cream, a bowl of chicken noodle soup, 2 orange smoothies, and down 2 glasses of apple juice. Cooper woke up nauseous and threw up 3 times. He did not come out of anesthesia as well as Parker. We were finally able to leave the hospital around 4pm. Both boys slept a lot for the next few days and missed a week of school. Nana was able to come visit and help for the week while mom worked and dad went to school. This was both of their first major surgery and first time being under anesthesia. We now know that Coop can't handle it as well as Parker.

Scotlyn's Homecoming Dance!!

Scotlyn went to Homecoming on Friday, October 4th. Her date, Karsen Jensen, took her to paint ball during the day. For their evening, they met at a friend's house, Addi Smith, and made wood fire pizzas while hanging out with the friends that were in their date group. We bought her dress at Macy's and ordered her shoes from Amazon. She enjoyed her evening very much.

Skyline Grizz Cheer!!

Scotlyn is a varsity cheerleader this year. She is having a lot of fun! It is quite the commitment. She has practice every morning from 6-8am, they decorate the school for certain events, and have to keep their grades above a C average. She manages to keep A & B's and hold down a job, as well. I love watching her cheer at football games and enjoy seeing her grow into a beautiful young adult learning to handle a lot of responsibilities at once.
