Random Summer Pictures!

Some summer fun was had serving wine at our local zoo for "Wines in the Wild" and then some friends of ours, Joe & June Nielsen, took us to see Garth Brooks in Salt Lake City for Father's Day weekend. 

 

Iowa 2022!!!

For our main summer vacation this year, we drove to Iowa to see the family! On the way out, we stopped off some areas we hadn't seen before because we went another way. We made it to Bismarck, North Dakota the 1st night and Minneapolis the 2nd night. We left on a Friday morning and arrived at the Mall of America on Saturday around 3pm. Matt and the boys did the amusement park and Scotlyn and I went shopping as she was on the hunt for a dress. We ate at Margaritaville and then met up with Matt's parents and Bonnie and Steve the next day for the Twins game. We then headed to the farm Sunday night for the week. On Monday, 7/4, it rained in the morning so we drove down to Clear Lake and let the boys do the town amusement park, then went back to the farm for a BBQ. On Tuesday, we hung out at the farm. Wednesday, Cheri took us to a swimming hole and we floated on a lily pad and the boys played in the water. Thursday, we went to see the crash site of the famous Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens, then into Clear Lake to see The Surf Ballroom and to a distillery. Friday, we drove to Minneapolis again to pick Jen up. That night we did wine tasting at the Victorian House and went downtown to the street dance because it was July Jubilee weekend. Saturday, we watched the parade from Mavis' home, walked downtown, then hung out at Happy Time for the afternoon while the kids swam. Sunday, we packed up to come home. It was a long drive, but we got to stop off at Mt. Rushmore on the way and that's always a beautiful site. All in all it was a great trip!!!
