Cooper Raises a Pig!!

Part of our summer activity this year was raising a pig named Jimmy for Country Kids 4H Club. He and Adrian pick up pigs on Easter weekend. They spent every day taking care of them, training them, feeding them, giving them fresh water, and cleaning out their pens. They were working hard to get their pigs ready for the Bonneville County 4H fair the first week of August. During the fair, the boys stayed with their pigs all day. They had a showing for sportsmanship on Wednesday, August 4, and then their pigs went to auction on the following Friday night. It was a good lesson and experience for both boys, but we decided that we probably weren't "farm" animal people!! Cooper did look super cute in his cowboy clothes though.

Happy 4th of July!!

I didn't get many pictures this year for the 4th of July. We spent the day watching the parade, taking a drive downtown, walking Finn, and watching the fireworks with the Carters. It was a nice and peaceful day!

Starr Semi Retires!!

After 22 years of being in education, I decided it was my time to be done. Top picture is my 1st year teaching and bottom picture is my 22nd year of teaching. I was celebrated in so many beautiful ways by so many wonderful people. I had 3 "retirement" parties and a wonderful girls' trip to Salt Lake City to watch a Jazz game and to Park City. I was showered with 3 dozen roses on my last day along with a video and a box of heartfelt letters from former students and parents. My next journey in life includes going to real estate school, being an event coordinator for a local nonprofit, and being a teacher consultant for a Montessori company out of Florida.

More Graduation Photos!!

From cheerleading banquets and lettering, getting awards at school, graduating with honors, visiting old elementary schools, and senior pictures to finishing it off with an amazing graduation party with family and friends, this was a year to remember!!! Scotlyn decided to follow in her dad and grandpa's foot steps and attend Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. She will go down on Monday, August 16.
