Cooper turns 11!

My sweet boy, Cooper, turned 11 on April 20. He, like many others, had to celebrate his birthday at home with no friends. However, he did say that it was the best birthday ever! He received many cards from family members, and got money to buy a video game on his Playstation from us. He had a chocolate birthday cake that he and Parker ate from all day long and chose pot stickers and fried rice to have for his dinner. Here's to another year!

History in the Making!

A virus that started in China slowly made its way to the US. In the middle of March, the president started to address the country about the dangers of Covid-19, the symptoms, and how quickly it spread. States started to practice social distancing and soon after, the Governor called for a shut down of all non-essential workers. This also included the closure of schools, as they were being called "soft" closures. We stopped having the kids come to school on Thursday, March 19. This continued until the end of the school year. The social distancing order and closure of non-essential businesses stayed in place until April 30. This caused a lot of trouble for self-employed and small businesses. I was still asked to come in each day and do distance learning with my students. We prepped work for them, their parents came in once a week to switch out work, and every Friday, we drove around to their homes to take them a special treat of some sort. It is something that will always be remembered. Our school put together this photo of all our teachers. Bonnie, Cheri, Josie, CJ, & Grandma took a photo for a local contest and they won 1st place.

Easter & Matt's Birthday!

Both Easter and Matt's birthday were on April 12 this year. Since we couldn't celebrate it because of Covid-19, we had to stay home. We had an indoor egg hunt because it was a little cold outside. Scotlyn found the $20 egg, and Parker & Cooper found the two $5 eggs. We had a keto cheesecake for Matt's cake, and for dinner, we made prime rib, roasted purple cauliflower, and brown sugar butter purple carrots. The day was very nice and relaxing.

100th Day of School!

I always love doing this project with the kids! It's so funny to read what they think their lives will be like. They also enjoy seeing them age with an aging app.

Starr & Parker's Birthdays...

We celebrated my 43rd birthday and Parker's 12th birthday on March 6 & 7. Grandma Wendy came up from Southern Utah and Auntie Sarah & Georgia came over from Nevada. We had so much fun all weekend. Friday night, we went to the LaBelle Ice Castles in Rigby. Scotlyn brought her boyfriend, Karsen, with us too. We went on a horse drawn sleigh, tubed down hills, watched a fire throwing show, saw Olaf, played in the ice castles, and had hot chocolate. On Saturday, we went to Leo's Place, had pizza, and played arcade games. It was a wonderful weekend having fun with family.
